Why Volunteer For Us

In today’s hectic world, time is one of the most precious gifts that you can share. Even an hour or two once a month could make a significant difference in the lives of one of our residents or to our organization in general. Opportunities exist for you to have one-on-one interaction with our residents or for you to donate your professional skills to our staff.

  • Reading to resident or day center participant
  • Assisting residents with accessing their email
  • Baking for one of our fund-raisers
  • Answering phones at our reception desk
  • Greeting our customers in our gift shop
  • Soliciting prizes for our annual auction
  • One to one visiting
  • Taking a resident for a walk

At Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich, "The Friends of Saint Elizabeth," is a volunteer group whose purpose is to enrich resident life at Saint Elizabeth Home through activities and fundraising efforts. Membership is open to all adult volunteers.

I began volunteering when I came to Rhode Island because I needed older people in my life. My grandparents were always close and were a big influence. I miss that.”

- Elsa Reverendo

“You’ve got to give back. I do because I’m grateful for what I’ve had in my life.”
