Nursing and Therapy

After an illness, a surgery, or a hospital stay, a physician  may order skilled nursing and home rehabilitation, often paid for by insurance. RNs and Therapists follow physician's orders and manage patient care, working with client's family to coordinate all necessary services. Services may include:

Nursing

• Skilled assessment  • Registered nursing 
• Catheter care/changes  • Diabetic teaching
• Medication instruction • Teaching ostomy care
• Education on disease management • Nutrition counseling
• Bathing and other personal care • Ostomy management

•  Wound care/dressing changes 

Physical Therapy 

Physical therapy can be ordered for many reasons. Surgeons may have specific protocols for our therapy staff to follow.  Therapists also work with patients who are deconditioned after illness, or hospitalization, or due to the progression of a disease process. 

These services include:
  • Therapeutic exercises
  • Range of motion
  • Balance training
  • Fall prevention strategies

Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapists assess our clients' needs - develop goals - adapt the needed equipment to the clients use - teach compensatory technology. 

These services include:
  • Home safety evaluation
  • Assessment
  • Plan - Implements and supervises therapeutic program

Speech Therapy

Working under a physicians' orders, Speech Therapy includes:

  • Communication systems 
  • Swallowing assessments
  • Cognitive assessments
